The newest Jetpack update 10.1 isn’t compatible with my site’s theme (Enfold). This is primarily an art website full of galleries, and none of the images are currently displaying properly. I debugged the issue and turned off every plugin, but only after deactivating JetPack I was able to see the images again.

Interestingly, I have another site on a different subdomain where Jetpack is activated but it’s but an older version (8.4.3) and the images are working fine there.

My main website has Jetpack completely deactivated since I can’t afford a broken appearance there, but now there’s no proper security.

Not sure what happened with the new update but leaving Jetpack activated completely breaks my site, and I’m not interested in changing my entire (purchased) theme over one plugin.

Can this issue be looked at and fixed?

I tested this on both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge – same error happens
My operating system is Windows 10.

    Hi there,

It looks like currently, you are using Enfold Theme Version 4.5.7. The latest version for their theme is 4.8.6.2. Could you please first update the theme and then try again?

If the issue persists after updating the theme then as a second step, please install Jetpack 10.0 after downloading from here and check if the issue disappeared. If it is then please ask your theme to check for any changes we did in 10.1 that is not compatible with their theme and if they can resolve this. For reference, you can send them this changelog.

@bizanimesh I first tried updating the Enfold theme, but that did not fix the issue. However when I downgraded back to Jetpack 10.0, the images appeared back to normal again!

I can only hope the next version of Jetpack will eventually be compatible with Enfold, but I’m happy to report everything is working properly now.

Thank you so much for the helpful solution!

    Hi @goldenmusellc

I am happy to hear that you’ve sorted this by downgrading back to Jetpack 10.0; I wonder if Site Accelerator was enabled when this issue happened? It seems you are using it currently.

If you want to update Jetpack, you could disable Site Accelerator for images by going to your WP Dashboard → Jetpack → Settings → Performance → Site Accelerator and see if images are loading; otherwise, you can go ahead and reach out to your theme developer to check if any changes aren’t compatible with their theme, as my colleague Animesh had suggested.

@muffinpeace Actually I recently learned about the Site Accelerator issue and I believe that was exactly the source of the broken images. I went ahead and untoggled the Site Accelerator and upgraded Jetpack back to 10.1. Everything’s working perfectly now.

Thank you so much for mentioning this and I’m glad I can use the most recent version of Jetpack again!
