Javascript redirects after filling in FTP account information
-
Hello,
Two days ago I installed your plugin, because I came across it when browsing the plugins page on WordPress and I thought it would be nice to have a plugin that makes back-ups now and then. I then configured the back-ups to be made onto FTP. I needed to fill in the FTP login information.
Today I got a message from Google Ads that our adds were being denied because the website was supposedly infected. Opon entering the website I saw that you get redirected to a Phising website. I traced the problem to a javascript snippet that is literally in every javascript file. I thought maybe beacause I installed a malicious plugin or something. But the weird thing is that this problem is acouring on multiple websites I host on the same FTP server, but only the ones running WordPress and they do not have the same plugins.
I scanned my computer for keyloggers and found nothing. I can not think of anything else than filling in the FTP login information on the setup of your plugin that may be causing these issues.
I see your company has a good reputation so I do not believe this to be the case but maybe you can help me to find the cause of this problem.
The only way of fixing it, it seems, is to reset the FTP login information and reinstall a back-up for all websites affected.
Kind regards,
Leone
