Hey there how’s it going, just recently started experiencing issues with my contact form where users can’t click the submit button.

I loaded the page in the WP backend and WP Forms reports the following:
Heads up! WPForms has detected an issue with JavaScript on this page. JavaScript is required for this form to work properly, so this form may not work as expected. See our troubleshooting guide to learn more or contact support.

This message is only displayed to site administrators.

I have cleared cache and checked other settings that may conflict and everything looks ok.

Can someone please advise the best solution.

    Thanks
    Alessio

  • Hello @agrtechnology,

    Thanks for getting in touch!

I looked at your website, and it appears that either the theme or plugin is having some JS minification feature enabled, which is the reason why browser validation is taking over the form validation. And that’s the reason why you’re getting a Javascript error message and submit button is not working properly. Here’s a screenshot for quick reference.

When you have some time, could you please check the theme settings and let me know how it goes?

    Thanks!

Thanks for replying Prasant, I thought it would be JS minification to so made sure that was unticked in my cache plugin (WP Rocket). After clearing cache the issue is still present. I don’t have any other performance plugins except for one to compress images so not sure what could be causing it.

    Hello @agrtechnology,

When you have sometime, can you please temporarily deactivate WP Rocket & the image compression plugin that’s activated on the website? And then try loading the form again.

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks!

Hi Prashant, sorry for the delay. Tried disabling both plugins and the issue is still present.

    Hello @agrtechnology,

I apologize for the delay in circling back to your support request.

I looked at the website, and I still see that the browser validation is overriding the form validation. If you have disabled both the plugins and the issue is still there then I think there might be a conflict between the forms and the site theme or another plugin. To troubleshoot this, please try the steps described in our detailed guide on how to test for plugin/theme conflicts.

    Hope this helps!

To solve it you can include this: /recpatcha/api.js
Here: Wp Rocket / Optimize files / JavaScript files / Built-in JavaScript is excluded
