  • Hi tkaufmann,

The value in question, cntfield, is used for the character counters on title and description; which posts are you editing, are those character counter fields showing up, and which browser and browser version are you using?

Yes, I got that from reading the code. The count isn’t working either. Have been testing with current versions of Firefox and Safari on OSX. It doesn’t matter which kind of posts im trying to edit.

    Hi tkaufmann,

I tested this and can’t reproduce this issue on the current version of Firefox on OS X; it may be that you’re running into a conflict with another plugin or with your theme. Is there anything else adding fields / metaboxes to your posts? I’d suggest testing on a development site, deactivating any other plugins that may be conflicting, and testing against one of the default themes that ships with WordPress, such as Twenty Fifteen.

Thanks, Peter, indeed a collision with another plugin may be the cause. Problem goes away after disabling Platinum SEO pack. I think one of the two plugins is superfluous, anyway ??

    Hi tkaufmann,

We’d strongly recommend not running two SEO plugins together, you will see problems with conflicts and they could be outputting conflicting or duplicate SEO meta. Our advice would be to deactivate Platinum SEO.

Yes I think so. I took over that website only recently and was as surprised as you ??
