Javascript DOM code not working

    I’m a new wordpress user, so this might be a simple question, but I’m stumped.

    I’m trying to insert some simple DOM javascript code into one of my pages. The code works fine in a standalone web page but when I try to insert the code into my wordpress page using the wp-admin HTML editor, it stops working. It’s almost as though the code is being ignored.

    I know I’m doing something really stupid but I could use some expert help pushing me in the right direction

    I’ve tried a myriad of the “run javascript” plugins (AYB Javascript in posts) but none seem to work. Maybe it’s because I’m using a form in the html? Or maybe the “onchange” event is being ignored?
