I saw today (November 23 2015) an article on wired describing a javascript base to be implemented at wordpress.com, and it of course made me curious as to the future of www.remarpro.com. I developed and am using a custom php-based template, and I’m curious as to how quickly I must be prepared to rebuild it. It’d of course take awhile for me to learn new ways… And I’m BTW curious as to how much of the blog would become client-based versus server-based. Conjecture?

It is highly unlikely that the core of WordPress will switch to using Node.js. The wp-admin area will likely be using more JS based tech in the future, but the core of WordPress will be PHP for a long time to come.

For themes, you can do crazy JS things with them already, if you like. The majority of the actual Themes Directory pages here on www.remarpro.com is a javascript driven site, running on WordPress, powered by a custom theme.

Thank you, Otto (if I may address you as Otto). That is good to know. I’m quite comfortable with my current, albeit simple-minded, wordpress template. FWIW, it’s a heavily butchered version of Jeff Starr’s H5 template. Glad to know I won’t have to mess with it for now. ??

Thanks apfwebs for the link. And thanks Otto for clearing up things, cause I am already new to wordpress, means struggling to swim smoothly, so any suddent change would be too tough to adopt.
