    Hey Guys,

I have recently migrated a site that I built on UpdraftPlus’s UpdraftClone server, across to my server and everything is working wonderfully… except Jetpack.

I am getting the above error whenever I press the ‘Set Up Jetpack’ button and I have no idea how to resolve the issue. I have been through all the suggested fixes on any support site I could find, but nothing has helped. I’ve tried to sign up for a paid Jetpack account, but I can’t do that because Jetpack doesn’t recognise my site (I’m guessing because it isn’t set up on it).

If anyone could shed some light on this for me I would be very grateful.

    Thanks in advance,

    Richard

    Howdy –

There’s an issue with the xml rpc. Try the troubleshooting tips here:

Write back if you need more help.

    Thanks for the reply @lizkarkoski

Unfortunately, I have already tried everything listed on that page and am still having the same issue.

    Any other ideas??

    Cheers,

    Richard

It seems as though we’re being blocked from accessing ***XML-RPC URL*** which Jetpack requires to function.

Your site’s XML-RPC file is kind of like a communication gateway to your site. Jetpack, the WordPress Mobile Apps, and other plugins and services will use this file to communicate to your site. If this is blocked, you will have other issues pop-up down the road for the same reasons.

If you are using any security plugins, please try connecting with those temporarily deactivated. If you don’t have any, or if that didn’t work, I would suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to unblock your site’s XML-RPC. The most popular hosting providers out there have managed to find other ways to protect their servers without having to hinder your site and your ability to use services with your WordPress site.
