    Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with the “Ivory Search” plugin on my WordPress website. When the plugin is activated, it appears to be inserting an invalid style tag in the theme template, specifically placing the style tag above the HTML doctype. This is causing various issues on my website. Right now it is deactivated, as you can see in my header navigation the short code is not working.

I’ve noticed that deactivating the “Ivory Search” plugin resolves the problem. However, I would like to continue using the plugin if possible.

Could you please investigate this issue and provide a solution or workaround? Is there a way to ensure that the style tag is placed correctly within the theme template, below the HTML doctype, when the “Ivory Search” plugin is active?

Any assistance or guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

Could you please reproduce the issue on your shared website so I can troubleshoot the issue?

    Hey Vinod,

I linked a page for reference. I will activate it for the time being and if you try clicking on the table of content links, the links no longer work. Please let me know if you can’t reproduce the issue and I will send a screen recording.

    Hi there,

Yes here is the video link: https://www.loom.com/share/98ec943f020345d591b83e32fff9672a?sid=a930c316-e5fd-49ff-b02a-52206966d016

If you notice when both the Ivory Search plugin and the Page scroll to id plugin are activated, the dropdown doesn’t work, it’s takes you to the top. And then when I deactivate the Ivory Search plugin, the dropdowns work so it has to do something with the Ivory Search plugin. Can you please advise what it is that is causing it to break? Thanks.

I could confirm it on your website.

Could you please try deactivating the AJAX search of the search form?

Also, try removing the search bar from header but don’t deactivate the plugin.

Got it, AJAX has been disabled and I removed the search bar from the header. Please let me know what to do next.

Here is a?screenshot of the source code with the style tag above the doctype (which causes the issue), here it is:

The plugin doesn’t add this style tag there and I don’t see it on your shared website.

Does it only display when enable the AJAX?

Thank you for your response. This is outside of my scope, let me test and get back to you.

    Hi Vinod,

I heard back from my contact and they said “You can tell them that the style tag gets removed once the “Ivory search” plugin is deactivated.” Does that help with a possible solution? for the time being I disabled and removed the Ivory Search plugin because it breaks my scroll.

The style tag is a valid HTML tag as described below so I am not sure why it is causing the issue for your scroll and not using the style tag is not a solution because it is necessary for the stylesheet.

Okay, I’m not sure how comprehend that but I will get back to you. So is it something you can’t fix on your end?

I don’t see any issue caused by the plugin so I can’t fix the issue that is not created by the plugin.
