for clothing google needs a color specified, even if there is no option for the buyer to select a color.
How can I add the color of an item to the feed? When using a different plugin for my shopify store, I was able to use a tag, something like #feed-color-red-blue-orange
and the feed would populate that google feed field with red/blue/orange

also for google shopping feed, clothing items should show ALL sizes that an item is offered in. in the other plugin I am used to only having the main item display, but show an array of sizes in the format s,m,l,xl,xxl,3xl
your plugin seems to only select 1 size (the default selection for the product in woocommerce).
how can this be changed to display a size range, or simply “one size” in the case of things like socks.

    Update:
I just tried out the free version and could not get a successful feed to process.
Several times I got a completely blank feed.
When I was able to get a feed populated with products, the filter did not work properly (I selected for a specific category to only show)
    However all categories showed.
In that feed all my product titles were appended with the variation options lol.
So if a product offered a fabric weight and size, the product title was [product title] + 4 oz. S
there are several other hiccups I noticed as well.
If support wants to reach out to help me get a successful feed to download I may consider upgrading or continue using. But right now, I can say the plugin is not working as described.
I have worked with several other google shopping feed plugins and even created my own feeds from scratch using google sheets.
Could it be user error? Tell me what I am doing wrong please.

    Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

For color and sizes you need to add WooCommerce attributes, see here how to do that: https://woocommerce.com/document/managing-product-taxonomies/

Once you have created those attributes and filled color and size values on your product edit pages then you need to add 2 field mappings on the field mapping section of the plugin. Where in the left drop-downs you select Google’s size and color fields and in the right drop-downs you select the attributes names you have just created. That should do the trick, after you refreshed your feed the sizes and colours should be in your feed.

    Hope this helps?

You didn’t read my question correctly. Respectfully, I need you to understand that I have been using woocommerce for years and I am well aware of how to add color and size values for variation products. But in some cases, the only variation for a clothing product is size. Yet google still requires a color be specified in the feed.
Here is the documenation where a pair of sneakers is shown as the example:
    https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/6324487?hl=en#zippy=%2Cunique-color-names%2Cvariants%2Cproduct-that-has-multiple-colors

    Hi,

I did read your question correctly. Respectfully, I think you did not understand my answer. Let me try to show you with some examples/screenshot.

This is a variable product that has size as an attribute that is also used for variations and it has a color attribute (not used for variation making): https://www.dropbox.com/s/r3rbs1zznzj9wgg/colorsize.png?dl=0

Than we add the field mapping as described in our initial reply:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/u3rroepttkhyjst/Screenshot%202022-05-18%20at%2009.35.25.png?dl=0

Resulting to this in the feed:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/49zqmcoojhhj8sq/size-color.png?dl=0

As you can see, a variation per size, including the colours in the feed.

    Hope this clarifies?

I always understood that is the way the plugin maps color by default. My question is for my case, whereby I have a lot of products that are not already populated with a color attribute, but DO already have tags with their respective colors. Can I somehow map tags to the google product feed color field?
Thanks for taking the time to answer and sorry for not being more clear.

Yes that is possible, this field mapping should do the trick:

I cannot get my feed to download (csv).
The link produces a 404 error.

Sounds like there might be a cron and/or permission error.

Did you already check the WooCommerce fatal error logs of yesterday/today to see what is in there? This is where you can find those fatal error logs: https://woocommerce.com/document/finding-php-error-logs/

Can you share the content of yesterdays/todays logs with us?

    Thread Starter gourmetkickz

    (@gourmetkickz)

I checked the logs and see only a logged event from 5/13. nothing from yesterday

    Ok, that is a pity.

Your feed status does say “ready” right? The 404 means the feed is just not there, this can be the case when it is not done processing for the first time or when someone or some process removed the feed. Could any of those be the case?

    (@gourmetkickz)

Ok after some trial and error it appears that once I create a feed I CANNOT make any changes to it, otherwise I will get errors like I described.

I got it working (successfully saved a CSV) by copying a feed, making any adjustments ahead of time, then running the feed (clicking refresh feed button).

Any idea why this might be the case?

Still sounds like something, like a security, backup or permission plugin, is doing some aggressive cleaning up and deleting the product feed files. Are you running such plugins?

Assuming the issue at hand has been resolved and/or our assistance is no longer required I will close this topic for now for housekeeping reasons.
