We had some products in the trash that I needed to restore but I hit the ’empty’ button by mistake (page was still refreshing and jumped as a went to click something else).

Is there any way to restore them to the trash or are they completely lost for good now?

    Hi there,

I’m sorry to hear about this blip you experienced. Alas, once the trash has been emptied, the products are deleted from the database.

If you have a backup copy of the database that was made before you cleared the trash, then you could restore it on a staging site, and retrieve the products that way.

    Hi @eastofwest

Thank you for the swift response.

I’m no IT expert so i’ll ask my mate who helps us a bit re the database.

    Question…

I need to pull a report of all customers/emails that bought a specific product. I’d just found a plugin to do it but i’ve since deleted the product.

Do you know of a way whereby I could achieve the list I need just by searching for a few keywords or similar? I really don’t want to have to do it manually, we’re talking 400+ orders.

There might be a bit of good news here. The orders retain basic info about the product, even if you delete the product. The product will show up in reports under WP Admin ? Analytics too, so you should be able to pull your data from there:

Again, thank you for the quick response.

I don’t suppose you could point me in the exact direction of said report could you? I’m afraid I’m struggling to locate anything.

All the reports under WP Admin ? Analytics should still include the info from the product, even if the product has been deleted.

The specific section referred to in the last reply is under WP Admin ? Analytics ? Products. The WooCommerce Analytics docs have more detail about all the sections and what each offers:

Hi @storenewbie. We haven’t heard from you in a while so I’m going to go ahead and mark this thread as resolved. If you still need help with this issue or have any other questions about the WooCommerce plugin, please start a new thread.
