I've built a Child theme with shortcodes included

  • Hi there,

    I recently put together a Twenty Ten child theme that has column shortcodes and button shortcodes (including image sprites) already built in – over 90 button combo’s and upto 6 columns.

    I did this originally to save time but was curious whether anyone else could make use of it? Is it worth uploading the theme?

    Cheers for any opinions, I’m still an amateur!

    I’m just going to pop it onto a subdomain today, Id greatly appreciate it you could take a look.

    I’ll try and get it validated and upload it asap.

    It won’t be available for download quite yet, it’s still not perfect!

    Cheers Bossman. I think I’m going to add the shortcodes to an entire theme (rather than just a child theme) so I can upload it to the WP database.

    That way people can still use a Child theme to edit it.

    That’s something I want to do as well, I’m a bit unsure how to do it though with the way functions are added.

    Completely open source. The GNU GPL is included in the theme download but please remember this child theme is still in development and has not yet been validated.

    Please let me know if you’re able to mae use of it.

    When you’re ready for people to download the theme, it might be worth mentioning that it’s GPL on the theme download page. Also, if you want to promote it on the forums, mention it in the post. Otherwise there’s an outside chance that the topic might get removed.
