• using nextgen – i’ve embedded the wordpress site into a website to try getting the interaction that the owner is requiring, but i’m sooooo stuck… the blog is at https://www.mansworldmagazine.com/wordpress/caption/
(embedded into https://www.mansworldmagazine.com/public_html/captions2.html until i can get it working)
i see the gallery twice – which may be that i posted the image twice – but here’s my problem:
when you try to up load an image you get the error “Failure in database, no gallery path set.”
the wp is rooted to the existing website, so i’ve tried using various forms of the following, none of which allow me to upload properly as a user: (in the gallery general options – when i go into gallery uploads, the gallery/uploads is the path, when i change that you can’t see the images that i’ve added – but in the gallery general options, nothing is making anything work and i’m spinning from it!!)
    https://www.mansworldmagazine.com/wordpress/gallery/uploads
    wordpress/gallery/uploads
    gallery/uploads

    what should i be using??
i know this might seem simple – but im just not figuring it out!!
thanks in advance for your help!!

and Andrew – that was fast!! thanks for your fast interaction!

Sure. When you say you’ve embedded WordPress into your site do you mean you’re just using it in a sub directory?

Does other WordPress functionality work out of the box? i.e. are you having other issues or is just nextgen?

Are you trying to let users upload photos? What exactly is your project spec?

LOL! guess i didn’t start with enough info!
what i am trying to do is be able to let people upload images to a website – we’re trying to encourage social interaction.
i haven’t been able to figure it out other than making the site a kind of blog…. so i thought maybe if i put a blog inside the site, it would work? – well, it works! except that i can’t figure out what to name the gallery
you can see the progress at https://www.mansworldmagazine.com/public_html/captions2.html
it’s just sitting there as a project right now…
i made a wordpress site in the subdirectory yes, it’s at https://www.mansworldmagazine.com/wordpress/
then put an iframe in with the link and it magically appeared!! i thought that was pretty cool –
i can add comments – and the option to add images is there – but it’s not working
    – the regular comments part seems to be working fine, though the page isn’t actually linked to the public anywhere i did check it from a different browser and it let me do what i was trying to do.

if there is an alternative (using dreamweaver) for what i am trying to accomplish, i’d love the input! meanwhile i thought the blog added in was kindof cool for letting web owners have some control of their sites and having the ability for visitors to reach out, so i’d love to get this answer for lots of future possibilities as well! – i hope that answered your questions…
