• Hello,

I thought that I would be able to solve this issue by simply changing the PowerPress plugin setting to Episodic. As shown in the link above, the Episodes are reversed or swap.

It was set to Serial prior to my changing it to Episodic. Now since 24 + hours ago it’s been and still set to Episodic.

Has anyone experienced an issue with the tracks or episodes go reversed? Am I looking at the wrong settings?

The iTunes listing link you provided ordered episodes in the order they are found in the feed. The feed is ordered by date, with the latest item first. This is the default blog/podcast feed behavior.

Within the iOS Podcast app, the new season number (must be a number) and episode number (must be a number) allows for episodes to be stacked in a particular order. Did you see if the season and ordering is correct in the Podcast iOS app?

Also important to note that the season and episode numbering does not apply to other apps, this is specific to the iOS 11+ versions of the iOS Podcast app only.

    Thanks,
    Angelo

I just looked up your podcast, you need to go into the PowerPress Settings > iTunes tab and switch from episodic to serial for the seasons and episode numbers to work. Then go to the episodes tab, enable the episodes and season number fields. Then when you go into edit your episodes you can specify the season number and episode number.

Thank you for your response Angelo! I was able to everything you’ve instructed, however, it’s still the same.

PowerPress Settings > iTunes tab and switch from episodic to serial for the seasons and episode

The only thing with this is I don’t have an option for seasons to switch from episodic to serial. It’s only for episodes.

Then when you go into edit your episodes you can specify the season number and episode number.

Do you know if having a blank value for seasons is part of the problem? I have values set for the episodes.

Make sure you’re running the latest version of PowerPress. Then, go to PowerPress >> Settings, Advanced Mode >> iTunes Type and switch it to Serial. That’s the setting you’re looking for.

    Hi Shawn,

Thank you for offering you help too. Well here are a few screenshots of how my setting are looking and have been looking since before my first post.

    Podcast Episode and iTunes Type

Also, I am currently running Version 7.2 of Powerpress.

I took a look at your podcast RSS feed here:
    https://theandfactor.com/feed/podcast

And everything appears to be set appropriately in the tags. The overall show tag is set to Serial, and each episode has the appropriate number. In theory, it should be displaying so that your episode 1 is at the top of the iTunes Store listing. But, that’s not happening and I can’t say for sure why.

The only thing I can think of at this point would be to contact Apple and ask them to clarify. You can do so by clicking the “Contact us” link at the bottom of this page:
    https://itunespartner.apple.com/en/podcasts/overview

Let them know what you’re trying to achieve and what you’ve done. Please respond back here with whatever they have to say.

I just got some more information from Angelo.

He said that your episodes must also have a season number to be displayed in the way you’re trying to do. He also said that this type of ordering is currently only being supported by Apple’s iOS Podcasts app. So, no matter what you do, the episodes are still going to display this way in your public iTunes Store listing on the web and in the iTunes desktop application.
