• I installed a powwerpress site for a client and have added iTunes cover art via the PowerPress plugin. The new image is showing up on the desktop and the link in the feed xml is correct, but several days later it’s still the PowerPress image that is showing on two iPhones. How can I correct this so that the correct image is showing.

    Site is Losing My Edge

I just sub’d to the podcast using the iOS Podcasts app on my iPhone. This is how the podcast is showing up on my phone:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/8i5qg5w4spacod5/LosingMyEdge.png?dl=0
The artwork there matches what’s in the overall channel image tag of the podcast feed:
    https://losingmyedge.blubrry.com/wp-content/uploads/powerpress/losingmyedge3000.jpg
As well as what’s set for the iTunes artwork image tag:
    https://losingmyedge.blubrry.com/wp-content/uploads/powerpress/losingmyedge3000.jpg
(it’s actually the same URL for both)

If this is the correct image, then I’d suggest deleting the subscription on any devices showing the wrong image and re-subscribing. The iOS Podcasts app may have cached something and its cache hasn’t updated yet. If this isn’t the correct image, let us know.

Thanks for that. The mystery deepens. The client has done what you recommend and it’s still the PowerPress logo showing. He has also had a couple of colleagues here in Australia test on their iPhones, with the same result.

I’m thinking it might be best to rename the cover art image and start again. And hoping that would not create new problems.?

That’s worth a try, Des. Especially if the current artwork is the same filename as before. I also think we might be up against a DNS caching issue, which can be difficult. I’ve asked Angelo to look into it. The team’s pretty busy this week after the Podcast Movement conference. I’m sure he’ll respond as soon as possible.

Thanks Shawn. Ah yes, the Podcast Movement event would have hae been pretty full on, I imagine.
