• A huge thank-you to the plugin developer.

When I was working on a copy for a post that required a number of ‘footnotes’ or references that explain the text, I thought that it would be great to have an Ajax Modal, hooked to a separate file – which would appear ( on the same page ), when reader clicked on a hyperlink, and point at the pertinent section, related to that hyperlink.

The main idea is to keep the reader on the same page and not link to external sites that may ‘take them away’, so to speak.

After some search and thinking how I would actually implement this, I stumbled upon this plugin, which does what I had in mind, and more.

The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5, is because the loading time is a bit slow ( I’m using a separate WP page on the same site as the ‘second file’ ).
I wonder if there is a way to improve the speed …

    Thanks,

    Greg

Greg, have you tried toggling the REST API method in the plugin settings to see if that improves the loading time?

In general, if it’s as fast as loading an entire new page, then it’s a win.
