• Don’t buy this.
Basic functionality is missing (such as diet preference and product variations). It also cannot deal correctly with taxes.

  • Hey, Geoff from Modern Tribe here—I just saw this review come in and wanted to reply directly. I’m definitely bummed to see any 1-star review roll in, but appreciate your feedback nonetheless and am truly sorry we failed to deliver on your expectations here.

I’m curious: are you reviewing The Events Calendar? The reason I ask is that you specifically mention diet preferences, product variations and taxes, which are not typically associated with basic calendar functionality. We do offer a ticketing extension to The Events Calendar that integrates with other eCommerce platforms (e.g. WooCommerce) but The Events Calendar itself was designed to be a calendar for publishing events rather than a product management tool with accounting abilities.

Plus, the plugin is free, so it’s worth mentioning that there is nothing to purchase. Again, there are premium paid add-ons for more advanced functionality and direct support, but The Events Calendar itself is completely free of charge and requires no money to get up an running on any website powered by WordPress.

That said, if your review is specifically aimed at The Events Calendar, then I wonder if you would you be willing to share some light on your experience? Specifically: at what point in using the plugin did you get frustrated at the fact that it seemed to lack the features you were expecting? Your insight here would be a huge help to help us understand where we have an opportunity to make things better. ??

Totally cool and understandable if you’re uninterested in providing that level of feedback or don’t have time–but we’d sure appreciate it and would take it into account as we work to improve the plugin. Our goal is to make The Events Calendar more useful to everyone…and if we can earn a full 5 stars from folks like yourself along the way, that would be a nice added bonus for sure.

Thanks again for giving the plugin a try and cheers!

Heck, I’m interested in knowing what the heck Bert was talking about too… It reads as if Bert’s review is for an e-commerce plugin, but what do I know? :/
