• It was my favourite plugin so far, but starting from version 7.x.x the plugins terminology is changed more from an inexperienced user perspective, for example: “Allow search engines to show this Page in search results?” with answers Yes/No. Which is fine, but I prefer more old school settings which allow choosing proper robots tags settings with right terminology – noindex, index, nofollow etc.

As well.. not sure why, but for some our clients’ websites the indexation and sitemap settings were returned to default. Not sure 100% about this, but could be an issue with updates from older to the latest version 7. I didn’t notice exactelly when it happened, but after noticing to one client and after that reviewing other client websites, it was changed to a default setting some other clients as well, but not for all.

At this stage version 7 not working properly with 3rd party plugin Next Gen Gallery.

As this was quite a big jump to the new version 7, hope that developers will fix the issues soon.

  • Hi @gintsg,

    Thanks for your feedback.

We understand that Yoast SEO v7.0 introduced some major UX changes which may confuse more advanced users. However, with this release, we tried to simplify the plugin interface and make the plugin settings more understandable to people who have less experience with SEO. You can read more about the reasoning behind the new changes on this post: https://yoast.com/yoast-seo-7-0/

On the other hand, there was a bug in Yoast SEO v7.0 where the settings were not properly migrated after the upgrade. If you updated from v6.3 to the current plugin version – Yoast SEO 7.1 – you shouldn’t be affected by this bug. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.

As for the problems between Yoast SEO and Next Gen Gallery, can you please create a new topic in the www.remarpro.com forums with more information about the issue you’re experiencing so that our support team can look into it?

Thank you for your detailed answer on this! I will get used to new interface and will be fine soon. Will inform Next Gen Gallery support team as well on this as the issue could be on their side as well.

    Keep good work.
