• I just had the “cannot create public_html/” issue on the automatic upgrade from version 3.0.

I asked my ISP Liquid Web to install and compile suphp. Twenty minutes later I retried and the upgrade was successful. Great job guys! Thanks for a phenomenal blogging framework!

Thanks Liquid Web for the great support!

  • Interesting… I do mostly MODx work on Liquid, but I have done WP there, and I’ve been able to upgrade without incident.

It is true that different Liquid servers have different settings, like on one I finally have the latest CPanel. I imagine newer servers have newer stuff on them, simply because upgrading an existing server with lost of old stuff running on it requires more caution. I am pleased to see that PHP 4 is definitely on its way out.

I’ll put in a plug for Liquid here… even if something isn’t working, they have put more effort into helping me than any other host I’ve used, bar none. Even stuff that was pretty obscure. And that’s very valuable to me! They totally rock!
