i have an aggressive form of breast cancer, that I’m trying to raise awareness for, so I’m in the process of using an old website that I’m about to change. I’m just an individual who has a dilemma about using Wordfence.

Unfortunately, I can’t afford to upgrades, but i feel that it is constantly bombarding me to upgrade to a paid version. So my question is, can i delete it from my website? Or will it just cause me more problems? Or is there a way just to use the free version and opt out of the constant requests to upgrade?

I’m really not being tight, if i had the funds, there would be no problem.

    Kind Regards
    Audrey

PS the site is changing from https://www.becomeadabhand.co.uk to https://www.inflammatorybreastcancer.co.uk

Hi Audrey, I’m sorry to hear that, but it’s great that you’re working on raising awareness. For the issue with the notices about upgrading Wordfence, they’re only included in emails that are about an event on your site, like a blocked IP, or a potential problem found in the scan results.

You can disable the alerts you don’t want in the “Alerts” section on the Options page, on the Wordfence menu, so that you get fewer emails. Many people disable the alerts about blocked IPs, which is fine if you don’t take any action when they’re blocked, since they’re blocked automatically. You could disable all of them, but it’s generally not recommended, since you might not notice security issues that the plugin has found, that way. Let us know if you have any other questions.
