• This plugin was great, but now is trying to do a little to much. Recent updates have been feature filled, but then also buggy. This imo always happens when a plugin deviates from its core function to become a larger tool. It is still one of the simplest to setup, but the ads in CMS, the overt push towards keyword stuffing and some of the newer instabilities make me rate this 3. I would advise a lot of this new stuff is segmented into optional modules/plugins. Most of the analysis tools put a very heavy load on the CMS.

  • Hi Niall,

    Thanks for your feedback.

You may already be aware but, just in case, you can disable the plugin features you don’t need under SEO > General > Features. Some of them like the SEO and readability analysis can even be disabled per post type, taxonomy or per user. You can find more info on this help article.

Regarding keyword stuffing, Yoast SEO checks whether your focus keyphrase appears in important areas of your post such as the title, meta description, headings, etc. If you use your focus keyphrase too much in your content, Yoast SEO will also warn you of that as we advise against keyword stuffing This article provides more details about the keyphrase density check.
