Tech Support Person from Poland Wants Access to my cPanel Now!
-
This plugin is a JOKE! I bought the pro version and have had WP Google Maps on my website for more than 4 years now. All of a sudden, almost all of my maps DON’T EVEN SHOW UP NOW! Before I contacted their support team, at least some of my maps showed up. Anyway, so I emailed tech support (I replied to Nathan from an older support email) and I received no reply for two weeks straight. Nothing. I finally went to the WP Google Maps Pro website and tried logging in using my username and password I used before, so I could issue a support ticket. When I try to log in, the page just refreshes and that’s all! Okay, so I went to the support FORUM and created a new topic explaining my problem. The next day a person from Poland emails me and asking for access to my WordPress Dashboard. Fine. Apprehensively, I created a new user with Administrator privileges and emailed him the username and password. He emails me back a few days later and says that he couldn’t figure out the problem and says that maybe it’s because I just need to update to the new version of the pro plugin (okay, how come I didn’t receive update notices automatically like all my other plugins do AND like I USED to from WP Google Maps but don’t anymore???). So, I deactivate and delete the old version of the plugin and download and install the new version. Lo and behold, now NONE of my maps load on my pages! At least some of the maps loaded when I was using the old version of the plugin! So, I tell tech support that NONE of the maps load now and guess what he says in his reply email. I need your FTP credentials so I can gain access to your cPanel so I can investigate further. Really, WP Google Maps? REALLY? You really think I’m going to give some guy from Poland (that I don’t even know personally) access to my cPanel? This company has the WORST tech support ever! By the way, they don’t even have an email or phone number on their WP Google Maps Pro page so that you can contact them directly. When you click on the Contact Us link in the footer it takes you to a page where you have to log in JUST to contact them! The problem is, when I try to log in, the page just refreshes. It doesn’t say my username and/or password are wrong, the page just refreshes! That should tell you everything you need to know about this company right there.
