itpc protocol in sidebar links

  • I want to add an itunes link for my podcast in the sidebar as suggested on the podcasting page:

    To make life easier for iTunes users, consider also linking to your podcast feed with the itpc:// protocol rather than http, e.g.:
    itpc://domain.org/path/?feed=atom

    iTunes users will then be able to subscribe to your feed with a single click.

    The problem is the link field automatically appends it with the http protocol. Is there a way to stop that from happening?

    I can put the link in a post or on a page, but I would prefer to have in in the sidebar links section.

  • Are you adding the link via the Links Manager?

    Instead, why not just manually add it to the sidebar directly?

    Yes, I was using the manager.
    I added the link directly and it works fine; I do not know why I did not think of that.
