• I have had iTSec installed for months, been running iTSec just fine after updating 4 days ago. I was doing some security maintenance (checking 404s, creating some redirects, looking into suspicious IPs) – then right in the middle of working, I got kicked to homepage. Then I couldn’t get back to admin at all.

Went to FTP, renamed iTSec folder, can get in just fine. I use Hide Backend and thought that might be part of the problem, so I tried removing that part of the code in htaccess, changed plugin folder back to normal. No go. Rewound to where I was.

I was working between iTSec and Redirection plugins (which, it doesn’t have any redirects for admin), so I tried changing plugin folder name for Redirection. No go. Rewind.

It seems to be isolated to iTSec :/ I was looking into why Google was getting so many errors, thinking I had banned a googlebot IP address, I was researching that when it kicked me out…

NOT a WP super user, but know my way around fairly well – Thanks in Advance!

Not sure what you did but the idea was to open a new topic in the iTSec plugin forum.

We seem to be in the Plugins and Hacks forum now …

Anyway, suddenly being redirected to the home page while logged into WP Dashboard is a typical symptom of the iTSec plugin Away Mode feature. People tend to forget about it …

To overrule Away Mode delete the following temporary file if it exists:

    wp-content/uploads/ithemes-security/itsec_away.confg

This way you should be able to login again.
