    This is my first WP site and a employee has been helping me set it up.
    Well in his ultimate wisdom, he installed a unregistered copy of iThemes Pro! When I found I later found out (today) I tried to deactivate it and it gives an error, shown below. He tells me its “fine” and “no big deal” and that he could “fix” it. Im not letting him touch at again… I did not pay for this and I do not want it. Is there anything I can do? How do I uninstall? it? Please help.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined method ITSEC_SSL_Admin::build_wpconfig_rules() in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas08_data01/41/2693241/html/wp-content/plugins/securitypro11417/modules/free/ssl/setup.php on line 97

  • Hi,

    What version is the site running?

    Do you see any code referencing SSL towards the top of your wp-config.php file?

    Can you try manually deleting it via FTP and see if that helps?

    Thanks,

    I figured it out.. Went in via FTP and changed the plugin name and it automatically deactivates after edit

    All is well now

    @gerroald
    I see the plugin foldername is securitypro11417 in the error message. Which by the way I think should be: ithemes-security-pro
    Anyway it seems to be 1.14.17 which is old isn’t it …
    What is the current Pro release ? 1.15.3 ?

    @jlowther

    Went in via FTP and changed the plugin name …

    Where exactly did you need to change the plugin name ?
    What was the old plugin name and what is the new plugin name ?

    Just trying to learn a lesson out of this.
    (Investigated a bit but wasn’t able to reproduce the issue).

    wp-content
    – Plugins
    -Securitypro….

    Changed the name of securitypro… folder to, securitypro_bckup

    Save and exit and WP will auto deactivate because that plugin can no longer be found

    Hi,

    @dwinden – I noticed that too. It seems that it may have been manually deactivated at some point. Then reactivated through the WordPress dashboard vs. restoring the directory name.

    The most current Pro version (as of yesterday) is 1.16.0. Version 1.14.17 was released 2015-03-20.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

    @gerroald

    Appreciate your feedback.
    One other thing (totally off topic).
    I noticed the iTSec Pro 1.14.17 release does not include a readme.txt file in the root … while the free iTsec plugin has one in every release.
    Is this a Pro 1.14.17 incident or a Pro structural omission ?
