    Hi there,
I’m hoping someone can shed some light on a problem i’m having.
I’m using the AVADA theme (v3.9.3) and I’m having trouble with iThemes Security apparently breaking my Author pages.
When I click on an Author’s name – it gives me a 404 error.
I’ve tried resetting the permalinks, no joy
It only works when I disable iThemes security ??
You can see the problem in the wild here on the development site https://notrdesign.co.uk/ays/author/chris-priest/ (access pwd YogaY064! )

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me on this!

    Kind Regards
    Stratus 123

Could it be the author chris-priest has 0 posts and the Disable Extra User Archives (Disables a user’s author page if their post count is 0.) setting in the WordPress Tweaks section of the iTSec plugin Settings page is enabled ?

I noticed the author page does work for other authors …

    Hmm.. no..
the author page is working for the Admin .. and that’s it TheAys is my default Admin account. When I disable iThemes, I get the user information for Chris Priest, if not his various posts (which are all in an added taxonomy)
I will go try and assign an article to him and see if that helps

    Thanks

    WOAH.. ok..

yes.. as soon as I attached an article to him, it WORKED.. but it works anyway, if iThemes is disabled and shows only the user information you see on this page.
So.. now the question is.. Why does iThemes Security, want the Author to have an actual Blog Post, before it shows a user page that has user information listed? hm…

Underneath the Disable Extra User Archives setting it says:

This makes it harder for bots to determine usernames by disabling post archives for users that don’t post to your site.
