• I’m having an issue with Login With Ajax since I have enabled ‘Hide Login Area’ with iThemes Security. I can log in on the front end of the site for password protected content, but now if you log out it returns you to the WordPress login area (which I am trying to hide) and ignores the redirect I have set within Ajax.

I noticed there is a Custom Login Action within the iThemes Security settings for Hide Login Area, but I am unsure if that is the solution, and how to use it if it is.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I need to hide the login area as otherwise it’s the default /wp-admin (I didn’t set up the site to begin with) which is not ideal, as over the last few weeks we have had a few notifications of brute force attempts.

I have tried updating each of the plugins, updating WordPress, clearing the cache for the browser, and no luck so far.

    Any help on this??

I need to be able to hide the backend because we are being attacked regularly, more than 35 logs with Invalid Login Attempts, Away Mode Triggered, and Host or User Lockout per day!

I recently removed the ‘Admin’ user, yet all the failed login attempts are for Admin, even now it doesn’t exist!

It is part of our service to clients to enable logging into the website, and having the backend hidden by using Login With Ajax is necessary!

    Hey Hstudios,

Currently the Hide Backend feature isn’t compatible with Login With Ajax. I’ve spoken to the developer and he plans on reaching out to them to find a solution. I don’t have a timeline on this but I’ll be sure and update you when I hear anything.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

    Hi there,

Is there any development on this as yet?

    Hi Gerroald,

Your dev can get in touch with me on https://msyk.es/contact-me/ – if you can reference this URL so I know it’s you that’d be great.

We have a client site that is experiencing the conflict between admin-ajax and hiding the backend via iThemes. Is there any progress on the fix for this?

    Hi All,

@marcus – My apologies for missing this. I’m sharing your information with the developer.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

I’m also having a conflict but with a multilanguage plugin where if I want to hide the login to be at domain.com/alternate it goes to domain.com/fr/alternate and no login page is found. Do you have any suggestions?
