iThemes Security blocks downloads from Download Attachments

  • When you use this plugin in combination with iThemes Security, pay attention.

    The plugin iThemes Security has been drastically renewed. In addition, a setting has appeared that blocks the operation of Download Attachments. Namely blocking PHP for plugins.

    Make download attachments working again by going to:
    – Security
    – Settings
    – Advanced
    – Go to System tweaks and uncheck ‘Disable PHP in Plugins’

    Which version of PHP and WordPress are you currently using with the Download Attachments plugin?

    I am using PHP8.0.13.

    It’s because of the new version of iThemes Security.

    Since iThemes Security also blocks all my litespeed cache, I have stopped using it.

    You have the Download Attachment plugin working on PHP 8 ? Did you have to do anything to make it work ?

    And which version of WordPress do you have?

    (i’m not worried about iThemes security… I dont even have that).

    Yes it worked right away. I am using the latest version of WordPress, latest version of the Download Attachment plugin and the latest version of PHP. My language setting is Dutch.

    That’s very interesting. And good to know that it’s all working with you. I was thinking it would block our way forward with upgrading from WP to WP5 and making it all compatible with PHP 8.

    I saw posts of people having trouble with Download Attachments plugin and PHP 7.4. And it’s very apparent that the plugin is not being developed anymore.

    If this doesn’t work, I’d suggest starting a post in the appropriate support forum.

    Sorry, I didnt understand this. This is the Download Attachments forum.
    Or did you mean the Author’s forum at https://dfactory.co/support/forum/download-attachments/ ? That one is completely dead.
