iThemes Bug – Can’t login

  • Hi,

    I have two sites on the same server. Only plugin I have updated is WP SMTP Mail.
    Ever since I have had an error with iThemes Security pro plugin.

    It does not allow access to /wp-login and just redirects to homepage.

    Any ideas on how to get it working again as this plugin is amazing when it works?

  • /wp-login is not a WordPress core login slug. So it usually returns a 404 (Page not found).

    However depending on which web server (Apache) the site is using and how it is configured the /wp-login slug might work. Simply because Apache then automatically attempts to access /wp-login.php …

    Anyway trying to access the login page resulting in being redirected to the homepage is possibly due to the Away Mode module of the iTSec plugin being enabled.

    It can be overruled by temporarily renaming the wp-content/uploads/ithemes-security/itsec_away.confg file.

    To prevent any confusion, I’m not iThemes.
