I want to display a list of my own publications on my blog. For this, I’ve installed the Zotpress plugin and synced it with my Zotero library.

My library contains over 150 references, but Zotpress imports only 81. I’ve checked the database, and there’s actually no more than these 81 references in it. So something must be going wrong during the import.

The strange thing is, that the Zotpress admin page shows the correct number of items in each subcollection. However, when I open one of the subcollections, only the items that are in the database are visible.

The items that appear in the database are quite random; it’s not like one collection gets indexed, and another isn’t. Also, during the import process, the statusbar shows for example ‘importing items 150-200’, which makes me think that part of the references are dropped during the import process. By the way, re-importing the library doesn’t change which references do and don’t appear.

Any ideas on what’s going on here?

I would have to see your library to be sure, but I suspect that either (a) not all of the 150 items are references (they could be notes, attachments, etc.), or (b) Zotpress is incorrectly excluding file types that are references. If you’d prefer not to post your library here, feel free to send the link to me: https://katieseaborn.com/contact

Thanks Katie. It’s definitely not the first issue, there are about 250 items in the database, of which 81 are actual references. I’ll send you the link, so you can check things out.

Actually, turns out I’m now encountering the same issue. I’ll see what I can do!

Strange… maybe something has changed in Zotero’s API? Good luck bug-hunting ??

I was able to fix it on my end — check out 5.0.8 and let me know if it’s still occurring for you.
