Items in xml sitemap not in blog.

    All these posts should not be in the sitemap. How do I find out why they are their or where they are coming from?

    They are image attachment URLs. WordPress uses the permalink structure to create a URL of https://example.com/image/, say you uploaded an image called image.png. You can learn more about attachment URLs here including how you can redirect them. To know how you can exclude those URLs from your sitemap, you can check this article.
