Items added to one menu keep getting added to another menu

    I’m currently working on a website where all the menus used to display correctly in their respective locations. However, I’m now facing a strange issue despite not changing anything for a while. Whenever I add items to a specific menu and save it, and then proceed to add items to another empty menu and save it as well, the previously set menu and the recently configured menu display all the items combined. As a result, the items from both menus are shown together on locations that are supposed to be separate.

    Currently, I have only placed one menu on the website (the primary menu) to prevent visitors from getting confused. This is a temporary measure to mitigate the issue until a proper solution is found.

    Your theme or one of your plugins is corrupting the menu process somehow. Isolating which means your site will be broken for a little while. You might want to clone it so you can investigate without affecting visitors. Use the Health Check and Troubleshooting plugin’s troubleshooting mode. It’s not a true clone, but it’s easier to think of it that way. The mode will only affect your view. Everyone else sees your normal site.

    With troubleshooting mode active, you’ll be switched to a default theme and all plugins will be deactivated. If the menu items are still messed up now, the underlying data had been corrupted. But if you now create new menus, added items will only appear with the menu they were assigned to. Use the troubleshooting admin bar item to restore your theme and plugins, one at a time. Verify after each that you can still correctly add menu items. When the problem recurs, the last activated module is the cause. Take up the issue through its dedicated support channel.
