    Hello,
So far, I like this plugin — it’s simple, but is mostly meeting my needs for keeping track of sales and expenses.

However, when you enter items, there’s a dropdown to add categories to individual items. However, I cannot see in any reports where you can get data on the items sold.

It would be useful, for instance, if there was a breakdown of sales according to the item category. Something you might want to include in a later version (if I didn’t somehow miss it and it’s there already:)
    Thanks

  • Hello @tricheryltops,

You can the sales data within the report under Accounting > Reports > Sales > categories, and there’s a filter there too. Please check this screenshot: https://prnt.sc/Ne6wN93rqe_1

    Hi,
    Thanks for the response.

However, I looked in reports and that’s not what I meant.

The sales tab lists all income categories. However, when you enter an item (which I assume is for individual products or services and is how I have been using it) there is a drop down to enter a category for the item.

So, for instance, for revenue categories, I might have Sales, Advertising Revenue,Rebates, etc.

But then for individual items, I might have categories like machine embroidery files, cookie cutters, mugs, etc.

It was this second “class” of category — the item category — about which I was asking. These are not listed on the Sales tab.

While I could enter Sales: Mugs as the category on an invoice if I wanted to be able to break down the type of sales, this doesn’t capture the person who purchases a mug and a pin on the same invoice.

It seems that as there is a category field when entering the item, it would be nice to be able to use those categories in reports. Perhaps a future feature?

    Thanks
