• A few months ago, all the italic type on my entire website began appearing in boldface as well. (Sample page is linked, but the situation is the same across the entire site.) The HTML code is for italic only, just using em and /em.

    The site is running WordPress 5.4.2 with the Enfold theme in its most recent update. I had hoped that recent updates in both WP and Enfold would make the problem go away, but they have not.

    As far as I can tell this is because in some of your CSS file at https://www.missouriartscouncil.org/wp-content/themes/enfold/css/base.css?ver=4.7.5 you have:

    font: inherit;

    That really isn’t necessary as far as I can tell looking on Stack Exchange and it seems to be the trigger that makes your italic text bold as well.
