• After trying dismal, complicated alternatives to migrate my localhost site to a live server, what this plugin does is the closest thing to magic. I was having a weird problem, however, with the export where it remained stuck at “rebuilding database”. After lots of research, it turned out that my localhost database tables were in a different collation (utf8bm4_unicode) than the one my server currently supports (utf8_unicode), and that was crashing the process. So I edited all of my localhost’s DB tables, re-exported using the plugin, and imported into the server – everything working like a charm this time.

Support by mail was prompt and gave me the clues to fix this issue on my own. So if you have an issue with this plugin, it pays to check if the cause is rather external as it was in my case. The plugin could be improved if it could detect these collation mismatches before going into a lot of trial and error, but all in all it works as it promises, provided the server supports whatever you’re importing.
