It was great but developer seems to have abandoned it

  • For the longest time it was a great little plugin but it seems the developer has effectively abandoned it, there is absolutely no support for issues encountered and no way to contact the developer. The support thread on here is completely ignored and has no replies from the developer. It is a shame because I liked it despite the plugin’s massive overhead.

    For example the latest issue is an error that pops up for no good reason and there is no documentation on why it occurs or any way to ask the developer what’s going on:

    Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 27262976) (tried to allocate 2877963 bytes) in /wp-content/plugins/crayon-syntax-highlighter/util/crayon_util.class.php on line 787

    It makes absolutely no sense and there is no way to find out why its happening. Having to debug the code yourself and try to fix it is not appropriate as a plugin should not be released if you are not going to stay on top of it.

    Fix it and provide better support and I would gladly change the rating.

  • Gμ?rD???, that issue isn’t the developers it is yours. Looking up that PHP error on Google would have clearly indicated that your site has maxed out its memory allocation and it just happens to max out when loading that PHP file, it could max out at any point, it doesn’t mean that Plugin is responsible. Adjust your rating.

    You would be 100% wrong. I have over 2 GB of dedicated RAM available to me, there is no way in HELL it is not enough. SO you rely on your Google searches and I will rely on facts. How is that.
