• Just installed ver2.5.0 of Page builder by site origin update and it completely broke my front page widgets. It got rid of all Site origin widgets that came with and then I couldn’t install them back.
Took me a complete day to fix this issue.
Thank You for whoever is responsible for this!

    Hi @quintable88

Very sorry to hear you’re having issues. We have identified an issue with Page Builder 2.5.0 and aTheme’s themes. Are you using one of their themes?

We’re working on a fix and will release it as soon as we’re done fixing some other things that have come up.

For now, you can roll back to the last version of Page Builder. You can download that here:

Hi Greg, I tried all your remedies and every other forum that I could get my hands on I couldn’t get it fixed. It took me about 10 hours to fix this issue so please don’t release any updates until you do a solid Q.C

We also had some issues with the new release. But the thing is, that this is a major update and there were two beta version released for this update and were available for testing.

We tested betas and modified things accordingly. Also, their support helped us with everything even though we didn’t have a premium license.

I understand your disappointment, but to give a one-star rating is an extreme reaction and also a bit ungrateful if you were using this plugin till now and were satisfied with it.

The plugin is great and you can hardly find a better support team than SiteOrigin!

We always keep data structures the same, so if you ever have issues in the future, doing a rollback will always fix it. You can do the roll back using this plugin. Installing it gives you a small rollback button in the plugin list – it’s very useful.

As @arhit mentioned, we sent out 3 beta releases over the course of 1 month before releasing 2.5.0. If you’d like access to beta before we do major updates in the future, you can sign up here: https://eepurl.com/1oW59

I have noticed that just about every user who rates Page Builder low, is still an active user of the plugin. It just shows that we have a passionate user base who have very high expectations – we’ll do all we can to live up to those expectations in the future.

Just as an update for this issue. It turns out aThemes themes were using a check for Page Builder that didn’t apply to the 2.5.0 update, so their themes weren’t loading the Page Builder widgets. @quintable88, am I correct in guessing you were using an aThemes theme?

I’ve spoken to their developer and he signed up to our newsletter, so hopefully, they’ll be able to check our beta releases before we release them in the future.

Unfortunately, with the hundreds of themes out there that integrate with Page Builder, we can’t check them all – we don’t even know what themes are integrating. All I can suggest is that everyone asks their theme developers to make sure they’re signed up to our developer newsletter.

From our side, we’ll also try announce the updates more aggressively on our Github repo, plus we’ll test with some more popular themes like Sydney and a few others.

Yes, I am using a aThemes theme. With better communication with all developers who uses your software for there themes I think you will help future users of the Page builder to overcome these issues better. I appreciate your concern about the one star that was given however please understand that it was given after whole day of frustration and wasted time. I am will reconsider my review so your great software doesn’t have this bad review effecting it!
    Cheers
    Quint
