It looks like we can’t load the settings. Error Message: 500

    On a fresh install of WordPress. I get a popup error message from the “WP Mail SMTP Setup Wizard” when I click the “Let’s Get Started” button. The entire error is as below:

    “Whoops, we found an issue!

    It looks like we can’t load the settings.

    Error Message:
    500,

    Return to Mailer Settings”

    I have created 2 new WordPress sites on “SmarterASP.NET” to troubleshoot the error but their support can’t seem to figure out what is going on.

    I can share the login details to one of those new sites if you wish to take a look.

    Downgrading php version from 8.2 to 8.1 solves the issue. Your plugin doesn’t seem to play well with php 8.2.1 64bit

    We’ve tested the WP Mail SMTP plugin on PHP 8.2 on our end and haven’t found any issues.

    It’d be great if you could share the actual error from the WordPress debug log. So we’d be able to take a closer look at the issue.
