• Totally out of touch. Paying $200 for some basic stats is ridiculous when you can get much more advanced tracking for free with GA4. On top of that, I have a completely non-commercial, non-profit website that I do in my spare time for love, but Jetpack insists that it is commercial and I can’t use their free stats. Other than that, 99% of the plugin’s features are completely useless.

  • Hi @mitkoxvx,

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback.

I have a completely non-commercial, non-profit website that I do in my spare time for love, but Jetpack insists that it is commercial and I can’t use their free stats.

We define a commercial site as one that you aim to make money from. This could be through advertising or affiliate links, selling products or services, soliciting donations or sponsorships, or any other means directly related to any business or organization. If a site is free of these commercial elements, it’s eligible for a free Jetpack Stats plan.

It’s understandable that not everyone will agree with us on this definition, but it’s what we’ve chosen in order to be able to continue offering Stats as a service while also remaining sustainable.

That’s great, but the problem is you’ve just made this change and it affects millions of users who’ve had free access to their stats for years and expect something as simple as stats to be available for free. I certainly do and I don’t think it’s an unreasonable expectation. I’m a small business, why would I pay $200 A YEAR to see my data? Seriously, who thought this was a good idea? I’m not a Jetpack hater BTW, I’ve been using it for 15 years and like several of the modules a lot, but this is too much guys.
