Could you please check PDF Light Viewer plugin’s error log folder ( /wp-content/pdf-light-viewer-logs ) on your server and share existing error logs with us via [email protected]. Main site’s error_log also will be helpful. Thank you

My problem is: Import process failed due to the error: SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 2 column 1 of the JSON data

Hello @mitsubishi,

This usually means that some PHP error occurred on the server side during the import process.

If this possible, please check your site error log and share it with us ( you could send it to the [email protected] ). Also the fastest way would be to give me some temporary access so I could check the issue by myself. In this case please send credentials to the [email protected].

Imagick seems to be installed correctly as I can see on the plugin requirements area https://i.imgur.com/yFr21yz.png

Is the set_time_limit essential? it seems to be disabled for security purposes on my host.

@mitsubishi got PHP error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method Imagick::transformImageColorspace() during the import process.

This function was added in ImageMagick version 6.5.2 + PECL Imagick version 3.0.0. So these minimal packages versions are required to make plugin work.

@igrossiter I believe you have similar issue. Unfortunately this issue cannot be fixed from our side, because ImageMagick is a critical dependency to make PDF Light Viewer plugin work but it could be installed (or upgraded) only from the server side.

In some cases this issue could appear when users try to convert new PDFs with old versions of ImageMagick and Ghostscript libraries.

We’ve already got similar error reports. In few cases the issue was related to the old software versions.

Ghostscript library is used by PDF Light Viewer plugin to convert PDF to JPG. Your version of Ghostscript is 8.70 which was released about 7 years ago in 2009 ( https://ghostscript.com/doc/current/History8.htm ) but PDF which you try to import could have some format differences since 2009.

So my first suggestion for now is to upgrade Ghostscript if possible.
