Istallation stalls on Step 2

I have just installed wampserver64, localhost is on port 8080. Created a database for the site.
Placed wordpress in C:\wamp64\www\wordpress folder.
Following the instructions, started https://loclahost:8080/wordpress,
and filled the necessary information ….
Wordpress started doing something (I suppose creating the wp_config.php file, and configuring my database…)
https://localhost:8080/wordpress/wp-admin/setup-config.php?step=2 appeared in the browser, and stays for more than 15 minutes, with blank page.

Any assistance on this matter
