    Hello, I added Issuu embeds to this page quite some time ago but recently my client noticed they were no longer linking. I tried resetting permalinks and I also had them resend me the embed codes in case something had changed at the Issuu end. Nothing seems to work. As a side note, I have noticed that links on some other pages started to not work in the last few months when I add a new paragraph with a link somewhere on the page. I have to move the paragraphs around putting them inside columns, taking out of columns etc to finally get all the links to work. But that is not a solution and I don’t look forward to updating that page. Here is the worst page where that is happening: https://meadowsmuseumdallas.org/education/teacher-resources/ in case it is connected. Thank you in advance for any light you can shed on this. Here is the embed code for the first Issuu on the page (Fall 2022):

    <div style=”position:relative;padding-top:max(60%,326px);height:0;width:100%”><iframe allow=”clipboard-write” sandbox=”allow-top-navigation allow-top-navigation-by-user-activation allow-downloads allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-modals allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox allow-forms” allowfullscreen=”true” style=”position:absolute;border:none;width:100%;height:100%;left:0;right:0;top:0;bottom:0;” src=”</iframe>“>https://e.issuu.com/embed.html?d=fall_2022_atm&u=meadowsmuseum”></iframe></div&gt;

    Here is the straight link:

    I may have solved it myself but it seems strange. I tried adding the straight link (not the embed code) into a video module and it not only worked but all the other links on the page suddenly worked and they are all embed codes. If anyone can help explain this, I’m all ears! I like to understand the reasoning behind something! Thanks.

    Embed codes that work in static HTML pages do not necessarily work in WP editor pages. The editor only permits a subset of allowable HTML code. It can strip out necessary elements, breaking the embed code. By providing only a straight URL, you permit the oEmbed process to work as intended. It likely also properly loads dependent resources that got stripped out by the editor. Once loaded, they become available to other embed code that was previously corrupted.

    Not sure that’s 100% accurate, but the true explanation is probably very close to this concept.

    thanks bcworkz. It is strange though that they worked for a long time then stopped working. Must have been some sort of update in WordPress or a plug-in?

    That would be a logical explanation, but I couldn’t say for sure. However, I cannot think of any alternative explanation that makes sense ?? I’m glad you stumbled upon a working solution!
