• Hey — I tried to install wordpress — by –open the wp-admin/install.php via the readme file in my firefox browser. The process failed it could not runn the php file … I decided not install wordpress.

    Now I can not access my Firefox browser. I am getting the error msg. “that firefox is running in a different windows.. I must stop firefox on restart the computer”. I rebooted the computer and uninstall firefox.. I am still getting the error msg… i reviewed the program in the task manager i do not see and firefox apps running… What did your installer do to my computer???

  • The installer shouldn’t do anything to your computer other than run scripts to install WordPress onto an environment running PHP and MySQL (locally or on a server). In fact the install.php can’t run unless PHP is up and running. And the install would fail if the MySQL database wasn’t running as well.

    Okay but back to your problem at hand – how are you installing WordPress? Locally? If so, what are you using – i.e. “MAMP on my Mac”? Or on a server?

    Then we can figure out the best way to get you to a successful install.
