issues with wordpress 2.6 edit box text

I am having a strange problem I cannot resolve. It happens in all browses (Mozilla, Safari, IE).

All the text “scrunches” together, ignoring spaces to create a new paragraph or topic. Images push together. I had to create an image the same color as my website back ground that I place in between everything I need a space between.

But this is no perfect solution. Sometimes the text “creeps” around the right side of the image (a gray colored line you cannot see when the post is published). If I use bullets the text is pushed into the edge of the sidebar even, or if the gray line is made too long it appears in the sidebar.

I am not good at changing CSS. Why is this happening? The text is not staying inside the edit box. Is there some way to set the margin of the right side so nothing extends beyond it, ever?

Is this a 2.6 bug or am I missing some simple setting?
