Issues with titles and meta

    I’m running into some weirdness in trying set titles and metas on posts and products. For example, I have a post that is published and has an excerpt with meta set to %%post_excerpt%%. The post is published but for title I get: ‘To get your Google snippet preview, publish your post!’, which it is. And there’s nothing in the meta description (even though I have an excerpt).

    In another situation I was getting some random text (perhaps from back when I was using Yoast), but that text is long gone and not in the excerpt nor anywhere in the post or set globally.

    This weirdness is not universal. A lot of them are working, I just can’t find the pattern where they are not.

    Hi,

    open your browser console with F12, then go to Console tab.

    Edit your product page with the issue.

    Do you see any errors from the Console?

    Can you share the URL of this product page please?

    Just as mysteriously as they appeared they have now disappeared. Sorry, can’t find the issue right now. If I run into it again will let you know.

    Ok, so I found one: https://essentique.com/product/doux/

    I don’t see any errors in the console when editing. What I do see is that the text in the meta description box is an old text that I’m guessing is from the old Yoast days and the google preview box shows the correct and current description (%%post_excerpt%%). The only other thing I can think of is that this product is a variable product.
