• Hi all, looking for some help in figuring out an issue with my WordPress setup. I’ve got two issues, and they seem to be theme/plug-in/widget/PHP related.

I have two plug-ins I can’t get to work: WPBadger, and Google+ Comments. When I activate WPBadger, it should show a widget available in the Appearance section. But, nothing is there…it’s just the basic widgets. For Google+ Comments, it says that my PHP is not 5.3+…and I need to update the PHP.

For WPBadger, I know that I usually have to deactivate all of my plugins to make the widgets work correctly. Is there something I’m missing with this?

For Google+ Comments…is there another plugin people have used for this…or how do I update PHP?

    Thanks in advance – Ian

  • Plugins may not work with all themes and they can also have conflicts with each other. If that’s the case, you may need to simply find another plugin.

Do the first plugin work on the twentytwelve theme?

Updating PHP is a question for your hosting company.

Hi, thanks for the quick support. I’ll figure out how to update PHP…or find another plug-in. I’ll also see if I can find another plug-in for displaying badges.

If I deactivate all of the badges…would that eliminate possibilities of it not working with other badges?

Also, can I move back to the twentytwelve theme to test out the WPBadger plug-in…and then move back to my Oxygen theme after testing…without messing anything up?

    Thanks again.
