Issues with installation
-
Hi there,
I’ve been having quite a few problems with the installation of WordPress which I intend to host on my own web server.
– The blog does not show up correctly in firefox according to the css stylesheet whereas it displays perfectly in internet explorer and opera. I have looked at various different similar issues in the forum but none have helped.
– If I type in https://www.fablemultimedia.com/wordpress it will not navigate to the blog even though i have IIS setup with index.php as one of the default pages for this site.
– Also very few of the links actually work on the blog. For example if you click on the categories link or the archives links down the sidebar of the blog they will take you to a webpage cannot be found error (in IE7) or No input file specified (in Firefox).
This has been a very frustrating day for me, i have changed the MIME types for my server, reinstalled WordPress a few times, tried changing the links in the options section and much more. The only solution i wanted to try and could not try was to edit the .htaccess file. I could not find it or create one on my server.
Here is the address to my blog as things stand:
https://www.fablemultimedia.com/wordpress/index.php
I would much appreciate any help i can get. Maybe if someone has setup their own web server with PHP, MYSQL and WordPress before they may have encountered the same issues. As far as i can tell both php and MySql are working fine but there may be something wrong i dont know about.
Thanks,
With best regards,
Dave Wilson
