    Hello,

After updating to latest Yoast SEO plugin, I became aware of this media attachment urls bug.

I installed the index purge plugin.

After clicking on any link to a media attachment page from the ‘/attachment-sitemap.xml’, it loads a page with a bunch of symbols as if the browser is trying to render the image.

What’s wrong here? Should it be triggering 410 errors and/or redirecting to the media image instead? Please advise!

    Thanks,

  • Hi Jesse,

Sorry to hear about the issue you are having with rending images. This does not look like behavior we expect from the Search Index Purge plugin.

In order to make this issue known to our developers, we ask that you create a GitHub issue about the issues you are having with Search Index Purge plugin.

To create a new issue, please go to our Search Index Purge plugin Github repo:
https://github.com/Yoast/search-index-purge/issues and click the big green button that says “New Issue” and fill out as much info as you can on the issue. Screenshots also always help.

Our developers will then review the issue and take it from there.

    Hey Patrick,

Thanks for the reply. I submitted the issue on the Github repo on October 13.

Any idea when the devs will get to it?

Between this issue and Google’s end of September algorithm update, I’m on a ticking time bomb to get all my bases covered and SEO-related issues rectified.

    Thanks,

    Any update on this issue?

It’s been nearly 6 months since I installed the Purge plugin. Not sure if I’m ready to remove the plugin as the previously posted issue still exists. Please advise!
