    Hello,

I installed Complianz for one of my client websites recently for GDPR and cookies consent and found we had few issues , like

    1. Google analytics traffic have dropped significantly
    2. Google ads tracking doesnt work, where i dont see my ads conversions in analytics and ads
    3. We use Google Maps API for auto address fill in our checkout with CheckoutWC plugin and now the auto address fill doesn’t work, when raised support with checkoutwc plugin developers we found this was a compatibility issue with Complianz plugin which blocks the Google Maps API.

i found articles to help , I used tagbird to check but still something doesn’t go right . request you to kindly help us with these issues

Regarding the analytics drop in traffic Just wanted to question whether a drop like this is to be expected due to many users just not accepting cookies?

Or, is there some way of setting up the plugin so that traffic numbers can be maintained somehow?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Hi @arunnatarajan,

If your configuration indicates that you have to obtain consent for Statistics, which seems likely as it appears to be a German website; the Analytics data may indeed decrease as you’re now only loading it if the user consents to the “Statistics” category in the Cookie Banner.

How have you implemented the conversion tracking? Does it work normally after consent is obtained?

The Google Maps API can indeed be blocked before consent is obtained, but if you don’t want to block it, you can disable the integration under Complianz -> Integrations -> Services.

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hi @jarnovos
Thank you for your prompt reply.
Yes we do have the statistics as one of the consent, (basically i dont know how to deactivate it or make it neccesar like functional).

I have implemented the Conversion tracking with an wordpress plugin. It was working fine until we activated complianz cookies plugin, but we werent sure for long time as we thought it was due to another plugin which we used to customise our checkout page. Recently with this Google maps API issue which was blocking because conflicts with complianz, we found the traffic drop is also due to complianz plugin setup.

It would really helpful if you can help me to get this corrected so i dont face issues with analytics and Ads tracking.

regarding the Google Maps API integration, I did check complianz> integrations >services, do you mean enabling this Google MAps toggle will solve my problem for Google auto address fill? am I right

I have also attached screenshots for your reference to support me

    Hi @arunnatarajan,

    Let’s start with Google Analytics;

This is set prior to consemt: https://snipboard.io/Zpl9Bh.jpg

This specific tag should have data. There’s a GT-*** tag blocked by Complianz, which is implemented by SiteKit.

The G-*** as shown in the screenshot is not blocked. Is this correct?

    regards Aert

    Hi @arunnatarajan,

For the Google Maps API to load without obtaining consent, disable the Google Maps integration under Integrations -> Services, and disable the Advanced Custom Fields integration as well, under Integrations -> Plugins.

    Hi @aahulsebos
Thank you for your response, I haven’t changed any of the default setting from complainz, as far as I see in the screenshot you shared I can see the tagbird shows the Google Analytics view tags. thus determining it’s not blocked, also I have attached the screenshot of the backend where in integrations – plugins I see sitekit is enabled for consent, do let me know if I have to disable this now.

Thanks for your response as well. I have now disabled the Google Maps integrations and also Advanced custom fields in plugins. Now I see the Google Maps API works for my Auto address fill issue in checkout, Thank you so much for your help. Hopefully, we sort out our Tracking issue as well

    Hi @arunnatarajan,

I can’t really explain how Complianz would affect that Analytics tracking, seeing as its’ events are being fired after consent.

Are you using a specific plugin for this tracking? Could you provide us with the name of the plugin in question? Maybe that provides some further leads.

    Kind regards, Jarno

we use Google sitekit and Conversios (enhanced ecommerce tracking plugin). as i disabled the google maps and acf from integrations , should I disable the sitekit also ? and I don’t find conversion plugin in complianz integrations segment so I don’t know how to block it .

    (@jarnovos)

    Hi @arunnatarajan,

As per an earlier thread about that plugin, you can apply this method to try and resolve this behavior with the “Conversios” plugin.

    1. Disable the Site Kit integration

    2. Use the below set-up under Complianz -> Integrations -> Script Center -> “Block a script, iframe, plugin”. Make sure to enable your integration with the slider and click the Save button.

You might need to clear the cache in plugins such as WP Rocket before your changes are reflected on the front-end.

    Thank you jarnovos
I tried the suggested setting you responded. i hope the disabling the Google site kit is like just toggle the button here or is anything else required ?

I have also attached screenshot of the setting from my backend , can you confirm if this is right – https://prnt.sc/TFlUkHzFvfX_
I tried using this setting for a week now i dont see much of difference in my analytics and Google ads data. Do I need to do anything else ?

    (@jarnovos)

    Hi @arunnatarajan,

It looks correct as far as I can see, the GTM/Conversios script(s) appear to be blocked correctly before consent; thereby preventing the Analytics cookies and such. And after accepting the banner, these are loaded as expected.

Hi @jarnovos I found that now the analytics is working better as i see increase in traffic, also tested some scenarios from my side as well. found the the tracking is not working as expected in the checkout stage , I wasnt sure if this is to do with complianz though , i want to tell you that we use checkout plugin called CheckoutWc . is it necessary to disable this in complains integrations if yes I don’t see this plugin in the integrations > setting >Plugins. Can you help me add this to whitelist ?
secondly as we disabled Google maps and Google sitekit , I see facebook , Instagram being enabled with placeholder in the services should I also disable it ?

    (@jarnovos)

    Hi @arunnatarajan,

I see Google Ads hits being fired, so I’m not sure if Complianz is related yet. You can test the difference after disabling certain Integrations under Complianz -> Integrations, which will be the best way to know for sure.

    Kind regards, Jarno
