Issues with Gift Cards , Tax and Shipping

  • I am having issues with Gift Cards Tax and Shipping.

    In Cart it is working correctly shipping is covered by the Gift Card.
    So if Gift Card i $50 and Item cost is $36 and Shipping is $6 (Total $42) it is showing Cart Total with Zero Balance and Gift Card amount to be applied $42 – so far so good.

    But when proceeding to check out the issue begins,
    In the Check out Cart (Under Order an below Payment Options – PayPal or Credit Card) , now we also have Tax of $4, Gift Card amount to be applied is showing correctly $36 + $6 + $ 4 = $46

    But in Check out Cart Total it is showing the cost for shipping and tax i.e. $10 , although it is supposed to be covered by the Gift Card.

    Anyone encountered this issues, I saw it show up few time in the forum with no answer. I am sure it is a wide problem.

  • I have the same issue. I’ve looked through the code and it seems the developer decided to apply gift card as a discount instead of as payment method.

    This results in customers being able to actually pay with the card but the accounting is thrown out of the window.

    Too bad, it would have been a useful plugin otherwise.
