• Hi All,

I have read through tons of posts to try and find the answer here but am at a loss.

Firstly my site isn’t live yet i’m running it via XAMPP on my local computer.

I am using the Twenty Fourteen WordPress theme with the following plugins:

    – Regenerate Thumbs
    – Simple Customer CSS

The issue I am having is that whenever I set a featured image to a post and view it the image is huge, it takes up most of the screen, the actual image size is only 274 x 184 however word press seems to be stretching it when it displays.

I have tried re sizing the image but to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated however I am very new to WordPress and my knowledge level is very low at present.

    Cheers

    Tom

  • Twenty Fourteen is designed to display large featured images. It will enlarge them to fit the full width of the entire post area; this is set in the theme’s CSS.

If you want to use Twenty Fourteen but have the featured images NOT fit the width of the post, then you should create a child theme and override that CSS within your child theme.

Or, you can look for a theme that handles featured images differently.

Or, you can upload larger featured images.
